This problem focuses on small businesses closing down in the United States during a global pandemic. Now that people are unable to meet in public areas in large quantities for leisure, this has taken a toll on small businesses. Using the "5 Whys" in analyzing key issues that connect to this problem, this method will assist in seeing indirect solutions to relieving the closing of small businesses.
Why are so many small businesses in the United States shutting down?
Because these small businesses are not receiving enough customers that are needed to continue operations.

Because people are unable to go out to these businesses and support them.
Why are people unable to go out to these businesses and support them?
Because of the growing cases of infected people during the Coronavirus pandemic that is causing the reduction of people being able to interact in large qualities for leisure.
Why is there an increasing number of people that are becoming infected with the Coronavirus?
Because people are still not taking the necessary precautions in reducing the virus.
Why are people not taking the necessary precautions in reducing the virus?
Because they are not used to changing lifestyle choices and normal routine.
This particular type of problem falls under an example of a wicked problem. There is no clear root of why small businesses are shutting down and there are many different stakeholders like owners and politicians who have an opinion on the matter. This is no one way to solve this issue of the shutting down of small businesses and no final solution to the shutting down of businesses.
